Day 1Welcome to Cambodia - Siem Reap Arrival

Your Indochina trip begins with your arrival in Siem Reap. Your private driver will meet you at the airport, holding a signboard with your name. He will escort you to your accommodation right in the heart of the city. You can easily explore the city at your own pace or relax at the hotel after the flight.

Day 2 Explore The Magnificent Angkor Wat (B)

Have breakfast at the hotel and get ready to explore the famous Angkor complex. Start your exploration with the visit to the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the best-preserved holy Buddhist gateway to Angkor Thom, built in the 12th century. Then visit Bayon TempleThe Royal EnclosurePhimeanakathe Elephant Terrace and Leper King Terrace. Continue to Ta Prohm, a famous temple covered by trees growing out of the ruins. This temple is the one, where the most impressive scenes of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider were filmed.

After lunch, you will visit Hindu temples ThommanonChaosay Tevoda, and Ta Keo, the small, attractive temples in a good condition, built all the same time as Angkor Wat. Then continue to Angkor Wat – one of the “7th Wonders of the World” and a World Heritage Site since 1992. Famous for its beauty and splendor Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology. After visiting Angkor Wat, you will get to the top of Bakheng Hill for the sunset viewing. Bakheng is the first temple constructed in the Angkor area. This mountain temple offers extraordinary views of the Tonle Sap and Angkor Wat.

Day 3Siem Reap - Travel to Phnom Penh - Phnom Penh City Tour (B)

Have breakfast at the hotel and get ready for your transfer to Phnom Penh by air-conditioned bus. Check in your hotel and have some rest. 

In the afternoon, the guide will meet you and take you to explore Phnom Penh’s attractions. Visit the Royal Palace, which is currently a resident of His Majesty, the King of Cambodia, and the royal family. The palace looks like a small town of royal dynasties. Continue to Silver Pagoda, which serves less as a functioning temple than a repository for cultural treasures such as 90 kg golden Buddha encrusted with 2086 diamonds. Finally, visit Wat Phnom Temple, one of the most important pagodas in Phnom Penh. It was built in 1373 on an artificial hill by the wealthy widow Daun Chi Penh.

Day 4Phnom Penh Sightseeing - Flight To Ho Chi Minh (B)

Have breakfast at the hotel, then visit Tuol Sleng Museum (S-21 prison). This former school was used as a prison by Pol Pot’s security forces. More than 17,000 people held at S-21 were taken to the extermination camp at Choeng Ek to be executed. Then visit Russian Market (Toul Tumpong Market). Here you can find everything: clothing, a large selection of Buddha images and woodcarvings, betel-nut boxes, silk, silver jewelry, and classic musical instrument. Then you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh.

Upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh city, our driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 5Explore The Mighty Mekong Delta (B/L) - group tour

Leaving the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City and start your trip to depart for My Tho, the town lies on the left side of the Mekong River. Upon arrival, visit Vinh Trang pagoda which sated back to the late 19th century. Then  boarding the sampan and cruising down the river around the four beautiful islands known as Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix and Tortoise islands. 

Stop over at Unicorn Island, go walking around country lane and seeing orchards, enjoy tropical fruits, folk song music which performed by the local people. Visit the fruit plantation. 

Riding a hand-rowed sampan through Thoi Son canal and treat yourself in the beauty of the countryside, visit the family business, visit honey-bee farm, enjoy honey tea and coconut candy workshop. 

Have lunch at local restaurant. Break time.

In the afternoon, time for cycling around the Tan Thach village, meet the local villagers to experience the local daily life in the Mekong delta. Hammock relaxing and enjoy cool breeze for those can’t join the cycling trip. Return to Ho Chi Minh City. End trip.

Day 6Learn Vietnam War's History With Visit To Cu Chi Tunnels (B) - group tour

Start 8:00 AM – END 2:30 PM 

Cu Chi Tunnels is a legendary underground system of over 220 km of tunnels, a must-see for both Vietnamese and foreign travelers who are interested in the history of the Vietnam War. The tunnels are now a historical structure of Vietnam and considered a heroic district for the role they played in the resistance to US forces during the Vietnam War.

The tunnels are located approximately 60km from Ho Chi Minh city. The tour departs at 8:00 am from your hotel in district 1. Enjoy the scenery along the way, as we pass the lush, endless rice fields and the ducks are water buffaloes swimming in the rivers. You might find it hard to imagine that once the area was almost completely destroyed by bombs and mines from the war, when Cu Chi was a “free target zone “.

Once we arrive, you will get a chance to walk through some of the tunnels, discover the hidden corners and imagine what life was like here for the resistance soldiers. If you like, try to cook with the smokeless stoves used by Vietnamese soldiers to cook during the war. You can even try foods which the soldiers lived on. If you’re feeling brave, or curious, you can even try your hand at shooting at AK-47, one of the guns used during the war.

Head back to the city in the afternoon; the tour finishes at 2:30 PM.

Day 7Travel From Ho Chi Minh To Hanoi (B)

Relish the remaining moment in Ho Chi Minh before your private driver escorts you to the airport to take the flight to Hanoi. When you arrive at Noi Bai International Airport, your driver will pick you up and transfer you to your accommodation. The rest of the time is free at leisure.

Day 8Explore Hanoi's Countryside in Ba Vi (B/L)

Location:  Moc village, Ba Vi district, Hanoi (About 68km from central Hanoi city, about 1.5 hours by car)

Highlight:

Harvesting tea leaves on a traditional, 30-year-old Tea Plantation

Cooking with a friendly local host

Visiting local workshops in the village

Cycling across the rice field and villages

Traditional Foot Soak with herbs following the traditional recipes of Muong ethnic minority

08:00 – Private guide and car pick you up at your hotel/residence.

09:30 – Arrive to Ri village where you will start the trip at your host’s house with a welcome drink. Meet Duoc (Mr.) – a Vietnam War veteran and tea-farm owner who tells historical stories with his own experience.

10:00 – Follow Duoc to his vast tea-farm and learn how to harvest tea leaves. This is a green and peaceful place where you can enjoy beautiful scenery of the village. You may then help him pick tea leaves, and be shown how to collect the best part of the tea tree to make the most wonderful beverage of Vietnam – the traditional tea. Carry on with the process of producing tea at his small workshop, most of the works there are manual.

11:15 – Have a ten-minute drive to visit another host family in Moc village where you will enjoy a fun cooking class with Chin (Mrs.). She will show you how to cook some Vietnamese dishes and you will then enjoy lunch with food you helped cook.

13:30 – Stroll around the village and visit some local families to understand rural lifestyle and learn how tofu, conical hat and other local products are made.

14:45 – Enjoy a cycling trip through beautiful paddy fields and interact with local farmers by chance.

15:30 – Wrap up your countryside tour by a traditional foot bathing in warm water with herbs, following the traditional recipes of Muong ethnic minority. This will relay you (and your feet!) after cycling around the village.

16:00 – Drive back to your hotel/residence in Hanoi.

Day 9Hanoi - Halong Bay (B/L/D) - Shared Cruise, bus

Halong Bay is a natural wonder of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site, and once you arrive there, you will understand why. Get ready to be amazed by the world’s most breathtaking views, and have a relaxing time on the cruise, enjoying the exciting activities we have prepared for you.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and leave Hanoi for Halong Bay.

The cruise team will meet you at the hotel lobby between 8:00-9:00 am (we will confirm the exact time the day before the tour).

Arrive at the jetty around noon and take a boat to the cruise. After a welcome onboard and check-in, lunch will be served while the cruise is making its way through the hundreds of islets.

In the afternoon, enjoy some activities such as swimming and kayaking or visiting caves (depending on each boat’s itinerary), or just spend relaxing time on board.

Towards the end of the day, the boat sets anchor for the night in a beautiful place, so don’t miss the sunset before having dinner.

Day 10Halong Bay - Back To Hanoi (B/L)

The sun rises on Halong in the morning, and breakfast is served while the vessel cruises slowly back toward the port. Enjoy an early lunch before arriving at the port and disembarking. You will be transferred back to Hanoi. The rest of the day is free to explore the city on your own.

Day 11Hanoi - Flight To Vientiane (B) - Vientiane Exploration

Relish the remaining moment in Hanoi before your private driver escorts you to the airport to take the flight to Vientiane (Laos). 

On arrival at the Vientiane Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. If time permits we will show you around the major temples of Vientiane including the oldest, Wat Sisaket, a temple of thousands of miniature Buddha statues, and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. We also visit Lao national icon, That Luang Stupa, and stop to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph.

Day 12Vientiane - Travel To Vang Vieng With Sightseeing (B)

Have breakfast at the hotel and get ready for your journey to Vang Vieng. We leave the capital early in the morning. On the way, you will see some breathtaking sceneries en route, when we pass through spectacular countryside towards the mountainous region. Along the way, we visit the busy and colorful market of Thalat where various hill tribes come to trade goods and buy provisions. The next stop of our trip is Vang Xang, famous for its archeological site dating back to the 11th century. We reach our final destination Vang Vieng, which is nestled on a bend of the Nam Song River. 

We arrive at Vang Vieng, descending the Nam Song by boat leads us through idyllic scenes of rural life: a unique sight with the limestone mountains in the background.

Day 13Travel From Vang Vieng To Luang Prabang (B)

Start your day by exploring the famous caves of Tham Jang, which were once used by the local people as a hideout from Chinese invaders. We also cross the river to Ban Huai Ngai. It is a very pleasant village where we can discover the different lifestyles of the locals.

In the afternoon, we head north up route 13 to Luang Prabang. The stunning mountain scenery will make this journey interesting and spectacular. On the way, you could make stops to make beautiful pictures. We arrive at Luang Prabang in the early evening.

Day 14Luang Prabang - Khuang Si Waterfall (B)

Have breakfast at the hotel and meet your guide in the hotel lobby. Today we will visit Phousi Market, where you will see a big diversity of local specialties such as dried buffalo skin, local tea, and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables, and hill-tribe weavings. Laos is also known for its traditional crafts, and today you will visit local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups such as Hmong village Ban Ouray, Laoloum village Ban Ou, and Khmu village Ban Thapene. After exploring the villages, we will take you to the beautiful Khuang Si Waterfall, where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the pools or walk along the forest trails. We then return to Luang Prabang.

Day 15Biggest Farewell and Warmers Thank You - Luang Prabang Departure (B)

Relish a healthy breakfast on the final day of your trip to Indochina. Complete the hotel check-out formalities, after which you can visit the local markets to buy souvenirs for your loved ones. Later your private driver will transfer you to the airport to take your flight back home.

Dat was very helpful and quick to respond to whatever needs we had. We went to all highlight places in Southeast Asia and what a wonderful they are.
