Hanoi topped Tripadvisor’s 2024 Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best list for food destinations, recognising the appeal of the city’s restaurants and street food.
The annual awards reflect traveller reviews and ratings submitted over the preceding 12 months. They describe that year’s results rather than a permanent ranking.
Hanoi led the 2024 food list, ahead of destinations including Rome, Crete and Cusco. The recognition drew attention to a city where a simple bowl of noodles can be as memorable as a restaurant tasting menu.
Visitors can explore dishes such as bún chả, phở, chả cá and bánh mì, then pause for an egg coffee. Well-known names mentioned in coverage of the award included Huong Lien, Giang Café, Cha Ca Thang Long and Pho Ly Quoc Su.
