Phu Quoc ranked second in Travel + Leisure’s 2024 readers’ list of the world’s best islands, behind the Maldives and ahead of Bali.
The annual World’s Best Awards reflect readers’ travel experiences, including scenery, activities, food, hospitality and value. The result brought wider attention to Vietnam’s largest island.
Off Vietnam’s south-west coast, Phu Quoc combines beaches, fishing communities and a growing choice of resorts. Different parts of the island offer very different atmospheres, from developed entertainment areas to quieter stretches of coastline.
New World Phu Quoc Resort also featured in the magazine’s 2024 hotel awards.
Set beside Bai Khem, the resort offers villa accommodation among tropical gardens, with the beach close by.

In the south of the island, Sunset Town brings together dining, shopping and entertainment. Nearby attractions include the Hon Thom cable-car excursion, while evening shows and markets provide options after sunset. Confirm operating days and tickets before planning your visit.

These awards refer to 2024. For your own trip, consider the season, beach location and style of accommodation that best suit you; Vietnam Tour Fun can help put the options together.
