How long to stay and where to stay

Our itineraries usually visit the lake from Siem Reap, without an extra overnight stay on the water. If you have a flight later that day, we schedule the excursion only when there is enough time in reserve.

Your Siem Reap hotel is normally the base for the visit. Pick-up time depends on the chosen village and pier. An overnight stay in a floating village is not automatically included.

Getting there and planning your route

Begin with a road transfer to the selected pier. Each village offers a different visit, and we will confirm the exact destination. A lake excursion does not automatically provide a boat connection between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.

Weather and when to visit

Changing water levels have a major effect on the landscape and access. Villages can look very different from one season to another. If conditions are unsuitable, we adjust the route rather than promise an identical view year-round.

Practical tips

Ask before taking portraits and respect private homes, schools and workplaces. A visit should not intrude on everyday life. Tell us about any mobility needs so we can discuss boarding the boat; a life jacket forms part of the planned equipment.
