Kien Giang appeared among Booking.com’s ten Most Welcoming Regions on Earth in its 2025 Traveller Review Awards. The recognition was based on accommodation reviews and award results, rather than a universal measure of how friendly residents are.
The award referred to the province as it existed at the time, before Vietnam’s later administrative changes. It was Kien Giang’s first appearance in this selection.
The region includes Phu Quoc and a varied landscape of islands, coast and mainland communities. The award drew attention to the hospitality offered by accommodation providers alongside those natural attractions.
