Ahead of Tet 2025, Agoda reported strong international interest in Phu Quoc. Accommodation searches made from 27 November to 21 December 2024 for stays between 25 January and 2 February 2025 rose by 266%, compared with 119% for Da Nang and 104% for Nha Trang.
Tet fell on 29 January in 2025, marking the start of the Year of the Snake. The search figures suggested a busy holiday period for the island; they describe that season, rather than demand or availability for a future Tet.
The report also noted that Phu Quoc welcomed more than 5.9 million visitors in 2024, including nearly one million international travellers. The island ranked second in Travel + Leisure’s 2024 World’s Best Awards list of islands. These figures offer a snapshot of its tourism growth at the time.
