Coastal relaxation, city life and day trips
Da Nang can be a destination in its own right as well as the gateway to Hoi An. Decide whether you would like beach time, city experiences or excursions along the central coast, then choose a base to match.
Your stay, at your pace, planned around you.

More than a place on the map
Choose your experiences, understand the journey and leave time to settle in.
Beaches such as My Khe can be the focus of a relaxed stay. Check access, surroundings and the activities you want. A sea-view room does not necessarily mean an easy walk straight onto the sand; look at road crossings and the actual route.
These limestone outcrops combine caves and religious sites. Visits can involve steps and uneven paths, so ask about the route and whether it suits your mobility. A brief stop and a longer exploration are different experiences.
Son Tra Peninsula offers a contrast to the city. Confirm the access arrangements and intended stops. You do not need to fit every coastal viewpoint into one day; free time by the sea is a worthwhile part of the trip.
Da Nang is a good base for combining an urban setting with the coast. Hoi An is more convenient for historic streets and repeated evenings in the Ancient Town. A longer stay at the base that suits you may be more relaxing than several nearby hotel changes.
Allow two to three nights if Da Nang is a planned destination. A simple airport connection does not require an extra night. Consider whether you want restaurants within walking distance or a quieter property with arranged transport.
Da Nang is a major transport hub on the central coast. Choose flight, rail or road connections that suit the whole journey, and arrange the transfer to the correct hotel, particularly if you are staying in Hoi An.
The route to Hue can become a scenic day with several stops. Leave generous time before important connections after excursions outside the city. Transfer planning should account for your starting address, route and traffic.
Weather and sea conditions change through the year. A month that suits cultural sightseeing may not suit a holiday centred on daily swimming. A beautiful beach does not guarantee calm water.
Follow local flags and advice. City or cultural visits can provide alternatives in poor conditions. Ask about cancellation or rescheduling arrangements for weather-dependent activities before booking.
Check beach access, room location, transport and the comfort you want. For sightseeing packages, ask which attractions and entrance fees are included. A large leisure attraction and a city heritage tour offer very different days.
Choose activities that add something to your trip. After busy sightseeing in Hanoi or Hue, you may prefer more free time here. For children or reduced mobility, discuss steps and the final access paths in advance.
Your time here
Use this as inspiration rather than a fixed package. Adapt the order and pace to your arrival time, the weather and your interests. Check the individual itinerary to see which services a tour includes.
Good to know
A flight connection or airport transfer does not necessarily include a visit to Da Nang. Check the daily itinerary for sightseeing in the city.
It can work well if you have enough time and different interests in each place. For a shorter trip, one well-chosen base with a day excursion may be more relaxing.
