The journey often starts in Ho Chi Minh City with a road transfer to the pier, followed by a combination of boats and vehicles. Allow a full day, rather than fitting the excursion into a short gap before an international flight.

The region is warm, and rain showers may change the order of visits. Actual conditions matter for smaller boats and paths near the water. Bring sun protection and light rain protection in your day bag.
